On an early morning visit to the waterfront at Pembroke Dock over the weekend, as I explored a promising little opening from the shoreline to a wooded bank, I literally stumbled from the rough track into this.
Credit and a BIG shout out to Julian and his team at Cuffern Manor for bringing the band Calan to close their UK autumn tour in Pembrokeshire.

NEW ALBUM RELEASED 2015 –
FLAMING REELS AND A TALE OF TWO DRAGONS
Celtic music from Wales.
Fiddles, guitar, accordion, bagpipes and step dancing explode into life as Calan perform songs and tunes from their album-Dinas. Infectious guitar rhythms and high voltage routines give way to beautiful and haunting songs as they begin touring throughout 2015 to celebrate their latest release. Amongst the traditional Welsh melodies and brand new original material, they breathe fire into the folk tale of Merlin and The Two Dragons: A song that tells the story of why there is a dragon on the Welsh flag.

I went from feeling like we were all going to die to mild excitement when we received our fishing equipment. The excitement lasted about three seconds.

While I wait for Barry John, the driving force behind this project, I am struck by the diversity of work now being displayed.

Seeing these ‘guys’ finally land at Newgale after what seemed like an epic voyage, made me wish I’d come to the beach earlier and donned some neoprene myself.
