Volunteers’ Week 2017 – You Make the Difference
Volunteers’ Week is a nationwide celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place from 1st – 7th June.
It plays a huge part in raising the profile of the millions of volunteers who regularly contribute to the community, while inspiring others to get involved too.
PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Action) is holding our National Volunteers’ Week celebration event, and Award Ceremony, on June 7th 2017 The Regency Hall Saundersfoot from 10.30am. This vibrant event is always well attended and there are plenty of stalls to browse before lunch and the Award Ceremony starts.
Thanks to funding received from the Learning and Work Institute, Welsh Government and European Social Fund this event will be celebrating the start of the Festival of Learning in Pembrokeshire. So you can come and learn something new – pop in any time from 10.30-12.30 on the day. You can have a go at art with the VC Gallery, go on a litter pick with Keep Wales Tidy (at 11.30am) and much more. You can also speak to a number of voluntary organisations to find out what volunteering opportunities might be available.
Come and help us celebrate volunteering, and the contribution Volunteers make, in Pembrokeshire. If you want to stay for lunch and the award ceremony you can book your free place here, https://volweek17.eventbrite.co.uk , or just contact PAVS.
If you want to find out more about volunteering, or look for volunteering opportunities in your area, you can contact PAVS or visit the Volunteering Wales Website. You can also visit the Farmers’ Market (Riverside, Haverfordwest) on Friday 2nd of June to speak to a Volunteering Officer.
