It is midwinter in Wales and I’m standing on a deserted beach – and I’m completely naked and letting the warm December sun dry me off. Because I’ve just been swimming in the sea (which on a bright day like this doesn’t feel anywhere near as cold as you might fear) and because I neglected to bring a towel with me.

I should hasten to add that there is no one else on the sands at Porthmynawyd Bay, and in fact no one else probably for a mile or so in either direction along the coast. That’s why I couldn’t resist discarding my clothes for a quick impromptu dip…

For the folklore and tales of Pembrokeshire, local author, Dr Brian John, will be sharing his collection of Pembrokeshire Tales for us to enjoy on PembrokeshireLifeOnline.

Story telling is and has always been such an important part of the human condition. Most of us spend our lives trying hard to live our best story and, with the stories we tell ourselves and those we choose to share we endeavour to influence our worlds. In what we say, with words and deeds; art, music, dance, fashion and lifestyle, choices we make to be present or absent, the extent to which we give or take. Our stories abound.

Mae Llwyncelyn ( yn wreiddiol “Dyffryn Arms”) wedi bod yn nheulu Bessie Davies ers 1941 a ma hi wedi bod yn rhedeg y lle ers 1972. Mae’r tafarn heb newid lot ers y dyddie cynnar ac mae wedi bod yn y “Good Beer Guide” ers ache.
